Our today’s test session will show if the new product with Core microarchitecture is capable of competing against specialty energy-efficient and inexpensive processors.
After the launch of the Intel Z77 chipset it became possible to deliver the functionality of a large computer system in Mini-ITX form-factor. Today we are going to talk about six mainboards that could be used as a basis for a compact gaming or overclocking system. These will be the products from ASRock, Asus, EVGA, Gigabyte MSI and Zotac.
We are already well familiar with two generations of Seasonic X Series power supply units, which are 80 PLUS Gold certified. But the manufacturer doesn’t stop at that and today we are going to talk about the most powerful product in this series as well as a couple of refreshed PSUs of slightly lower capacity.
MSI mainboards look great, have very convenient layout and use only high-quality components. These boards are energy-efficient, fast and work well with default settings. However, there are quite a few things in their BIOS that could use some extra work and the boards do not keep the power-saving technologies up and running during overclocking. Everything we have just said is true for the main hero of our today’s review.
Today we are going to check out two pairs of “Platinum” power supply units with capacities of 760 and 860 watts, which belong to two different series: AX and AXi. Which one should be a preference for those who are looking for the most efficient power source for their systems ?

Filling a small-but-important niche for AMD, dual-GPU cards allow AMD to both deliver ultra-enthusiast performance levels their traditional single-GPU products can’t offer, and at the same time compete with NVIDIA’s big die flagship cards without AMD needing to produce a big die GPU of their own. As a result, though these cards aren’t necessarily obligatory, with each generation we’re left eagerly awaiting just what AMD has in store for their capstone product.</span></p>

In a typical year we would see AMD release a standard design, and then later on partners like Asus and PowerColor would release their own custom designs in the name of product differentiation and squeezing out just a bit more performance. Instead the 7000 series has played out in reverse: Asus and PowerColor released their designs first. Consequently, up until this point the 7990 has been “officially unofficial”, reflecting the fact that the first 7990s were AMD sanctioned products, but not based on AMD designs.</span></p>
