Almost all of us have gone to see a movie in 3D at the theaters at this point. Unlike most 3D designs at home, movie theaters use a passive 3D setup with polarized glasses that enable you to watch 3D without needing expensive, battery powered glasses.

Though the implementation is slightly different, passive 3D technology has started to come to the home as well, and the ViewSonic V3D231 is one of the first computer monitors to use it. Will the advantages of passive 3D outweigh the negatives in a PC environment? Find out as well as how the Viewsonic V3D231 fares in non-3D tasks in our full review.

Not every user out there needs a power supply unit capable of handling an overclocked system with a pair of high-end graphics cards inside. A mainstream system will be OK with a 400-500 W PSU, if it is designed correctly and is of quality manufacture. Today we are going to discuss several products like this.

A lot of our case reviews lately have been for enclosures that hover around the $99 price point and then range below. The big, expensive ones are exciting and ultimately many of them are definitely worth your hard earned money, but what about the friend who's on an extreme budget? What if you're on an extreme budget? The case is often one of the easiest and safest places to cut money out of the cost of a custom build, and BitFenix has been diligently serving the cash-strapped for a while now. Today we have on hand the new Outlaw, and we'll show you just how much case you can get for fifty bucks.

The big push in movies and displays has been 3D the past few years. In movies it’s ranged from well designed and executed (Avatar) to a gimmick to charge $4 more per ticket (many examples), but for gaming, it potentially has more direct benefits.Virtually every game now is rendered in 3D, and so all of the information is there that is needed to show the game in 3D to the user, unlike the fake 2D to 3D conversions that many films use. Running in active 3D also means a panel that works at a true 120Hz, so even your 2D image can benefit.

There are a variety of things to consider when purchasing a new LCD, and the 3D (120Hz) aspect really muddies the waters. Nearly all 120Hz/3D consumer displays use TN panels, and there's still a question of whether 3D is even worth pursuing. We'll investigate these areas and more in our review of the Samsung S23A750D.

This is our first look at a power supply from a relatively new company, Lepa. We'll be looking at their B850 (850W) model, that looks to target the upper end of the mainstream market. It has the relatively common 80 Plus Bronze certification (up to 88% efficiency), the expected safety features, and a 135mm fan, all backed by a 3-year limited warranty. Let's find out if this newcomer can deliver the goods or is merely another also-ran.

When you start dipping well below an MSRP of $99 for an enclosure, you'll see manufacturers having to make compromises in the design and build quality in order to keep the price down. That's not unusual, and it gives the opportunity for smart engineering to come to the forefront in a bid to maximize value at minimal expense. We've seen a lot of exciting cases at $99 and in that neighborhood, but Rosewill's Ranger can be had for just $69.99, putting it in direct competition with crowd favorites like Bitfenix's Shinobi. Rosewill offered superior value with their full-sized Thor v2; can they repeat that success at half the cost ?
